Are you responsible for picking the venue for a work party this year? Whether it’s an annual summer family day, a corporate away day or a Christmas party, many London employers like to treat their staff to a day of fun every so often. As each company tries to outdo the others, the hunt for something truly unique is on.

We take a look at some of the best options in London at the moment:

The Zoo.

Why not go to the zoo? Everyone loves a trip to the zoo. At London Zoo there’s a really quite impressive range of function options, which include eating whilst watching a penguin display, close-up animal experiences or simply overlooking the ‘Australian outback’ while you have lunch.

Tower of London.

Despite having been around for over ten centuries, the Tower of London (pictured above) remains one of the city’s most iconic buildings. In fact, you can even rent it out for your own event. Its location makes it ideal for most London-based companies, especially those who enjoy the office space EC3, EC1 or SE1 has to offer. With a range of venues within the Tower of London, from the banqueting suite which can sit up to 250 to the Martin Tower for groups of up to 12, you can have a range of events, meetings and dinners at the Tower of London.

City of London Distillery.

For an away day that no one will forget, the City of London distillery is again conveniently located for a half-day event for any central London company. Corporate away days at the distillery involve creating your own gin in the Gin Lab Experience. If your away day is likely to turn into an evening do, then this might also be a great place to start.

The Science Museum.

The Science Museum offers a really good choice of away days, including bespoke events. These can involve unique team-building efforts through interactive, thought-provoking exercises. You can choose to hire the entire IMAX cinema for your event or have just a party where guests can ride on simulators and enjoy in-house science entertainment acts.

The Roof Gardens.

If your main concern is throwing a party in a unique location, then you could do a lot worse than choose the Roof Gardens in Kensington. These themed gardens are owned by Virgin and cover 1.5 acres of varied woodland and indoor eating space. With flamingos wandering around the English Woodland garden and the distinctly Moorish feel of the Spanish gardens, it’s certainly a place of both serenity and luxury.

The Clink Museum.

Located in SE1, the Clink Museum is the ‘prison that gave its name to all the others’. It’s possible to hire a space for corporate events or parties, and functions can include a fascinating champagne tour of the prison’s tragic past. Employees will certainly leave feeling grateful for their present-day situation!

In a city that never sleeps and is at the forefront of creative thinking, commerce and innovation, there are a huge number of party and corporate away-day venues available all over London. If you want your employees to enjoy a function they will never forget, then you can choose from one of these fantastic locations.
