Global social media analytics and optimization company Socialbakers has announced the opening of its new Asia-Pacific headquarters based in Singapore. Prague, Czech Republic-based Socialbakers’ expansion into the region comes on the heels of its successful Series C funding round to the tune of US$26 million earlier this month, and looks to tap on the rapidly growing demand for social analytics as social media becomes increasingly dominant as part of the marketing mix for brands in this region.
According to Campaign Asia Pacific, two-thirds of companies surveyed in Asia-Pacific are raising their digital budgets this year as the highest return on investment is now via digital marketing channels. “By 2017, Asia-Pacific will have the largest social network population worldwide. By investing in the region now, we are positioning Socialbakers to help both global and regional brands to benchmark and optimize their social marketing performance,” says Socialbakers CEO and co-founder Jan Rezab.
Appointed to lead its Asia Pacific business is new vice president Simon Trilsbach, formerly of Experian Marketing Services. “Social is a global playing field, and Socialbakers is uniquely placed to help brands understand how they compete internationally with the only analytics platform that provides truly global industry benchmarks together with extensive local categorization of brands social properties,” explains Trilsbach.
“This will enable brands to make the right decisions, whether they’re seeking to increase engagement with customers, build brand awareness or drive sales conversions,” he adds.
Always hope for better.
