Digital marketing events have been getting tired of late, and perhaps it’s no surprise that interactive advertising and technology conference ad:tech in these parts recently rebranded itself into a regional event, ad:tech asean 2014. And to help promote the event, exhibition organizer dmg::events will be introducing a series of roadshows across three major Southeast Asian cities – Jakarta (5th of May), Kuala Lumpur (7th of May) and Bangkok (9th of May) that will lead up to the ad:tech asean 2014 in Singapore from 8-9 July 2014.
The roadshow series will revolve around the theme of “Marketing in a Digital World”. With more than 40 percent of Internet users coming from Asia Pacific (with 9.4 percent of total users from Southeast Asia), organizers believe that Jakarta, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur are natural choices to host the roadshows. After all, these countries are large contributors to Southeast Asia’s online population of 62 million, and their respective digital landscapes have been growing from strength to strength over the past decade.
“Over the years, we have seen new companies emerged out of ad:tech from these high growth potential markets. With the launch of the roadshow, we aim to better engage industry stakeholders and deliver localized content that matters on the ground,” says Julia Kwan, General Manager SEA, dmg::events.
“Thailand, ahead of its neighbouring countries in maturity and long term economic growth, has risen 33 percent to reach 24 million Facebook users over a quarter in 2013. Malaysia on the other hand has the fourth highest proportion of “digital natives” in the world with more than 3.9 million Malaysian youth falling under this category. This indeed proves to be an opportunity for marketers to charge ahead as the digital landscape for 2014 gravitates towards increased mobile penetration, native advertising and data.”
As with previous years, ad:tech 2014 will showcase a lineup of keynote speakers who will cover topics such as Mobile, Social, Insights & Data, Measurement & Analytics, Video, Talent, Content Marketing, Engagement and Storytelling, Demystifying Digital, Growth Hacking, Online & Offline Ecosystem and Brand case studies.
