One of Singapore’s oldest startup competitions – Start-Up@Singapore – is back, this time for its 14th edition.
Organized by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Entrepreneurship Society and aimed at encouraging youth entrepreneurship, Start-Up@Singapore started in 1999 as a business plan but has now grown to be much bigger. Its recent edition attracted more than 3,000 teams and 9,000 participants, both locally as well as from countries such as Australia, Canada, Norway, India, Brunei, Pakistan, Russia, Greece, the Philippines and Indonesia.
This year, Start-Up@Singapore comprises of three different components: Biz Venture Challenge, its original business plan competition; the Social Venture Challenge, aimed at aspiring social entrepreneurs, and the all-new Product Showcase, specially designed for aspiring techno-preneurs with innovative new products but need help to turn it into a business. Start-Up@Singapore also offers mentorship opportunities by the most reputed names of Singapore’s entrepreneurial community, the chance to network with angel investors, venture capitalists and start-up gurus, and participate in various business clinics and workshops.
Preliminary submissions end on 8th February, 2013 – register for it here. A three-page executive summary is required for the Biz Venture Challenge and Social Venture Challenge, while a two-minute video is needed to apply for the Product Showcase.
