As part of its commitment to the developer community in the region, Blackberry maker Research In Motion (RIM) will be initiating its Built for Blackberry program this month. The Built for BlackBerry program allow developers to submit their BlackBerry® 10 WebWorks or BlackBerry® 10 Native app(s) to the Built for Blackberry program for review, and will receive the “Built for BlackBerry” quality status if and when cleared.
RIM is also offering developers a safety blanket with its US$10K Developer Commitment – apps that have attained “Built for BlackBerry” quality status will be eligible for a top-up to US$10,000 in revenue. As long as a qualified app earns at least US$1,000 on its own on Blackberry App World but less than US$10,000, the phone maker will make up the difference to US$10,000.
