Haven’t we all been through this before – pulling an all-nighter to get a homework assignment completed, or for the programmers amongst us, the “Just one more line of code” syndrome?
But such enforced sleep deprivation in the hopes of chasing success may do more harm that you think. Amongst other things, research shows that pulling too many all-nighters changes your body hormones that tell you when to eat and when to stop eating, and can lead to – horror upon horrors – weight gain.

So if you need to pull an all-nighter, one suggestion is to take a quick power nap.
