If you loved the emerging startup vibes of the DEMO conference, Asia will be getting its very own version with DEMO Asia 2012 slated for February 29 to March 2 in Singapore next year.
Organized by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) subsidiary and events company Sphere Exhibits and IDG Enterprise, DEMO Asia 2012 looks to gather Asia’s brightest innovators and budding entrepreneurs into one place, giving them the opportunity to debut, pitch and showcase breakthrough ideas and products to corporate acquirers, media, venture capitalists, angel investors and strategic partners. Singapore is the second country in Asia to host a DEMO event after China, and the event will comprise of conferences, pitches and networking sessions for an invited group of companies to launch their products for the first time to an audience.
An Asian Innovation and Entrepreneurship Showcase
At the DEMO Asia conference, specially selected startups will deliver six-minute pitches to potential investors and buyers to garner their buy-in and interest. There will also be presentations and panel discussions from leading industry players and experts on cloud, social media, consumer, and enterprise technologies made during the conference.
Asian countries will be invited to showcase their homegrown fast-rising companies as part of the DEMO Asia Startup Expo, which should see companies in web, mobile, cloud, enterprise, social media and consumer technologies from across the region network and form strategic partnerships. It will also feature several DEMO alumni companies from the United States.

In November, the DEMO Asia Innovation Tour will visit Jakarta, Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to search for the most innovative ideas and products to be showcased at DEMO Asia. A similar audition will be held in Singapore November 8-10 at Block 71, located at the Mediapolis Phase 0 at Ayer Rajah. In this closed-door session, 20 companies will be screened and the shortlisted applicants will be given five minutes to present to a DEMO Asia judging panel.
Shortlisted companies chosen by the DEMO Asia judging panel will have the opportunity to do their pitch to venture capitalists, investors and the media at DEMO Asia.
DEMO Asia Singapore Audition
DEMO Asia would like to invite all startups to participate in the first audition for DEMO Asia 2012.

Time: 2.00pm to 5.30pm

Each participant will be given 6 minutes to demonstrate his concept, product or technology to a panel of judges. No PowerPoint but images or short video clip to support the presentation are allowed.
The successful applicant will get to launch his concept, product or technology at DEMO Asia in March 2012 to global press, savvy investors, corporate acquirers, strategic partners and buyers.
This opportunity is open to all Startups, SMEs and MNCs.
There is no fee to participate at the audition. If selected, the respective fees apply – Launch $3,500, Alpha $2,500.
There will be limited scholarships available that will help offset a portion of the fees (terms and conditions apply).
There are two categories for at the audition:
1. Launch – for companies to launch their market-ready product
2. Alpha Pitch – for individuals/groups/startups with prototypes/concepts
