It was bound to happen – with the explosive growth of location-based services such as Foursquare, it was only time before someone applied it to dating. Yes, cue in SingleSquare (www.singlesq.com), an application that is designed to help those who are desperate single – or pretending to be single – to find, meet and communicate with one another.
The idea is dastardly simple – instead of hopping from singles bar to singles bar, you basically use the app to locate other singles who are currently at places nearby around you. Once you find someone interesting, you can send them direct messages before meeting them (to save yourself any unnecessary embarrassment).
If you’re so inclined, check it out on Apple iTunes. Judging by the number of Facebook likes, many have already done so.
(“Add a Sighting” sounds like you’re reporting that you’ve spotted an UFO or something)
